I grew up in a large family so it was really special (and rare) when my mum would take me on a date night, just the two of us. I would always want her to take me for .25 cent wings at the Cactus Club restaurant in Vancouver. Our wings always came with celery sticks and blue cheese dip. Every time I am back in Canada I go out for wings. It's not hard to get my Australian husband on board the wing train either and hit up wing joints with me when we are back there.
When discussing hot sauce with a co-worker one day my husband discovered that Woolworths grocery store brought Frank's Red Hot sauce to Australia! The same sauce used at a lot of the wing joints and restaurants in North America. So Aussies, if you have been longing to have American style wings now is your chance, and it's so dang easy to do at home. We have since discovered that Bibina (a wholesale supplier) stocks a 3.78Litre jug. That's HUGE! We use the hot sauce on anything we can think of, mexican, pizza, eggs and bacon, and certain soups.

If you don't like things too spicy hot then you will like these wings. I've been known to just sit and drip the sauce on my finger because I'm so obsessed with it, and NEVER end up with burning-mouth syndrome. However, if you do love very HOT wings then you will probably be able to find the spicier version of this sauce.
I found this old photo of me on the left. Duck face can also be translated as Frank's Red face
