A Year On from Post Natal / Partum Depression

On Saturday I took my last (half) pill of Zoloft. I felt like a band should start up and go past with a victory march. Instead my husband and I high fived in the kitchen and resumed cooking breakfast. I'm okay with that because a year ago cooking breakfast with my husband would have felt like the biggest achievement, not because he's hard to work with. Ha, not at all! But because a year ago I was down a deep, dark hole and struggling to cope with the basics of day to day life and my 5 month old.

My First Blogger Event - Myer Giftorium

Kids Business  and Myer invited me along to hear their big announcement in the Myer department store, downtown Sydney. We (my family and me) stepped off the elevator and were swept into another world. It was a magic Christmas wonderland. Myer calls it their Giftorium. It seems to take alot the childhood nostalgia I felt about Christmas, *minus snow (this is Australia we are talking about), and pack it into this beautiful 6th floor display. You'd be hard pressed not to find a gift here for anyone in your family, even the person who doesn't like anything but sand -play (you won't know what I mean by that until you go to there) ...

Studio Cockatoo Geometric Art Prints (are in my house) + Giveaway

We recently renovated our bedroom ('before' photos here), and didn't have any artwork for the main wall of our bedroom. Before any of the renovations happened I did up a dream bedroom collage here and included some cactus artwork; but after the renovation some weeks went by and still we had a blank wall. I continued my search for something like that artwork in my collage but that was Australian. I was looking at a local store's photos on instagram, Blackbird Corner, and saw the gorgeous artwork featured there by Studio Cockatoo
Which look do you like more?

Lesson on Female Anatomy (Part 2): What's a Cervix?

Artwork Credit
I'm back with another lesson on female anatomy, this time (drum roll please) the cervix. Some of you may remember back in July when I wrote a lesson on female anatomy entitled 'You have 3 holes not 2' where I tell the story of a roommate who discovered that she does in fact pee from a separate hole to her vagina.

Make Your Own Beer - Brew By U Hunter

This is my husband David and I a couple years ago at the Little Creatures Brewery in Perth. One of our hobbies together is checking out breweries, and tasting craft beers together. It started when I bought a couple expensive European beers for Dave's Christmas stocking a few years ago, and now you'd be hard pressed to find a generic brand of beer in our fridge. Since we had our son and have gone down to one income the beer budget has been stretched as far as an ear on an Emo-kid; I had to come up with another way to keep cost down while still being able to enjoy quality craft beer. I hope you enjoy this guest post by David and the discount offered at the end of it - Jessica, PKM -

Having only spent time partaking in the consumption of craft beers, I have long been saying I would like to  spend time partaking in the production of beer. Queue awesome wife who decided that a gift certificate to brew beer of my choosing (or a least one from their list) at Brew By U Hunter would make the BEST Father's Day gift; she was right.
